“Phra Aphai Mani and The Mermaid”

Inspired by the love between a human and a mermaid, this artwork draws from one of Thailand’s national epics, Phra Aphai Mani, composed in 1822 by the country’s most revered poet, Sunthon Phu, often referred to as “The Bard of Rattanakosin.”  

This fantastical tale, rich in romance and adventure, took 22 years to complete and remains a treasured masterpiece of Thai literature.
